Surgical treatment of excessive sweating of the hands

Excessive primary sweating disease: a health problem that prevents those who suffer from it from doing many daily activities such as writing, driving a car, using the computer, or even it may prevent some from getting married, and it also has harmful psychological consequences. The causes of excessive first hand sweating may be attributed to genetic causes that lead to increased activity in the sympathetic or sympathetic nerves within the thoracic cavity. Although some topical treatments can be used to reduce sweating (such as Botox), the only permanent treatment is a thoracoscopic surgery with two holes, each half a centimeter long, under the armpit to cut the sympathetic or sympathetic nerve under general anesthesia and the patient is discharged from the hospital within 24 hours. All other solutions are temporary, non-permanent and costly in the long run

Thoracoscopic resection of lung tumors

Lung cancer is one of the most common types of tumors, the most dangerous and the most deadly. Surgical treatment is to open the chest, connect and cut the veins and arteries coming out of the heart directly, and then tie and cut the bronchus that feeds that lobe of the lung. It is a huge operation by all standards and has many complications. Performing such a laparoscopic operation was considered a fantasy, but with the medical and surgical development, it has become possible to eradicate lung cancer laparoscopically as the complications are fewer, the number of days to stay is less, the return to work is faster, even the death rate is almost zero percent.

Chest wall tumors

It is possible for the ribs, whether the cartilage area or the bony part, to be infected with malignant or benign tumors, and the surgical treatment represented by excision of the tumor is the best treatment

Rib fractures

It is a common injury that occurs when a bone in the rib cage is fractured or fractured. The most common cause is chest trauma, such as a fall, car accident or collision while playing contact sports.

But many rib fractures are just cracks. While cracked ribs are still painful, they are not as potentially dangerous as ribs that have been broken into separate pieces.

Pain associated with a rib fracture usually occurs and is exacerbated by:

take a deep breath  Pressing on the affected area bending or flexing the body Rib fractures usually heal without any intervention within a month or two, in most cases. It is important that you control your pain adequately so that you can continue to breathe deeply and avoid lung complications, such as pneumonia.

* Specialty concerned with treatment: Thoracic surgery

Surgical treatment of myasthenia gravis

Myasthenia gravis is an acquired autoimmune disorder, which usually results from interruption of neurotransmitter communication with their receptors through antibodies, ultimately resulting in weakness in the individual's skeletal muscle.
Myasthenia gravis directly affects the muscles that control the eyes, eyelids, and facial expressions, and the muscles that control speaking, chewing and swallowing.
Treatment includes drug and immunosuppressive treatments and is determined by a neurologist, and a surgery to remove the thymus gland and is performed by a thoracic surgeon and is performed by endoscopy without the need for an incision in the chest and the patient is discharged from the hospital within 24 to 48 hours.

Thoracic deformity correction surgery

1. chest concavity:

Congenital chest contusion is one of the health problems that cause deformation of the rib cage and may lead to difficulty breathing as a result of pressure on the lung and heart, or to aesthetic and psychological problems. This congenital malformation can be treated with advanced surgery with laparoscopic and metal stents. The stents remain for 3 years and then are removed.

2. The protrusion of the rib cage or the breast of the pigeon

Deformation of the erythematous chest:

Thoracic deformity characterized by a prominent sternum, characterized by the protrusion of the sternum forward due to curvature of the lower costal cartilages (usually fourth to eighth).

The specialty concerned with treatment is thoracic surgery

Pneumothorax

A pneumothorax is an abnormal accumulation of air in the area between the lung and the chest wall

The people most prone to pneumothorax are:

  - Young men of tall stature and thinness: There is a type of pneumothorax of unknown cause, but it is widely spread among young smokers, especially tall and thin (meaning your age is between 15 to 25 and tall and thin, and you have sudden severe pain in the chest or back with shortness of breath .... you go quickly to the emergency)

Patients on ventilators

Smokers: because smoking causes swelling of the lungs, and therefore they are more susceptible to pneumothorax.

Patients with chest allergies, and lung cysts, are more susceptible to pneumothorax

Those who have had a severe chest infection, whether bacterial or fungal

Video mediastinoscopy

Video-Mediastinoscopy through the neck is a surgical procedure aimed at taking a biopsy of the masses and lymph nodes  located in the mediastinum area behind the sternum, as well as with the aim of detecting cancerous tumors and other diseases.

Indications for endoscopy

Mediastinoscopy can be used to detect the following conditions:

  • Removing lymph nodes when a person has lung cancer.

  • Examination of the nodes to help see how far the cancer has spread; This is to determine the best treatment options for lung cancer.

  • Cancer of other structures in the mediastinum.

  • infection or inflammation

  • Diagnosing lymph node tumors as lymphoma

Thoracoscopic Lung Biopsy

The endoscopic lung biopsy is a diagnostic surgical procedure performed under general anesthesia using small holes from the chest to take a piece of lung tissue and send it to the tissue examination in the laboratory to differentiate between malignant and benign diseases and to know the type of disease so that the treatment can be determined afterwards

The modern endoscope for taking lung biopsies is the best and safer alternative to open lung biopsies

Treatment of the pigeon's chest or Pectus carinatum

The emergence of the rib cage, or what is known as the pigeon's chest, is a congenital anomaly of the rib cage, and although most cases do not suffer from heart or breathing problems, there is a small percentage accompanied by problems in the heart valves or a tilt in the spine. The treatment of this psychologically harmful deformity is by surgical operation, but recently new techniques have appeared, such as straightening the rib cage using a special orthodontic device. This service is available at Dr. Muhammad Al-Tarshihi clinic, where the doctor performs a 3D scan of the deformity and a special orthodontic device is manufactured for the patient by 3D printing in countries such as the United States
